Basics - Boxes management

1. Accessing and editing boxes

In the Boxes tab in the left column of the site administration you have access to the boxes management. You can see a list of all the boxes created on the site with their unique numerical identifier. (Id).

If the title is "No Title", the public page that will display this box, will not display any title (This is the case for the Id 00 box of the pack that serves as Editorial).

Two icons are displayed for each box, under each language flag :

  • The first one gives access to the editor.

  • The second is to delete the box.

Look out! The order of the languages stated on the site is crucial: deleting the box in language number 2 or number 3 only deletes their respective translations. To definitively delete a box, and all its translations, you must delete it in language number 1 (in the pack, it is the Italian language).

2. Editing a box

In the pack, the main editor provided is Whizziwig. You will be able to add other editors (TinyMCE and/or CodeMirror -see the documentation of these editors-).

Below, the box with the Id 00 has been edited.

NB: This is where you get to by clicking on the Box00 quick link in the public page.

Note that the Title field is empty: this is necessary to get "No Title"..

The icons are standard for text editors.

Clicking on the icon on the right HTML opens the source code of the box. See below.

Handle with care, however!

A click on Hide HTML code takes you back to the editor window.

  • Clicking on the Image icon enables inserting an image.

The Browse link will open the folder /images of your site and allow to select your image among those already on your server, and even upload a new image on the fly, as seen in the file management page.

  • A selection and a click on the Link icon enables you to insert a link.

The Browse link will open the folder (directory) /file of your site and enables you to select a .zip or .pdf file among those already on your server, and even to upload a new file on the fly, as seen in the file management page.

3. Creating a new box

Click on the link at bottom right in boxes management.

  • Then enter a title in the field provided for this purpose. Leave blank to not display a title.

  • Write your box at your convenience.

  • Click on Save.

Look out! The order of the languages stated on the site is important: the new box will be automatically created in language Number 1 (in the pack, it is the Italian language).

A new icon has been added for the blank boxes in languages 2 and 3. A simple click is all it takes to open the editor to create these translations. The content of the box is automatically reproduced (just translate it!...).

On the other hand, it is necessary to fill in (or not...) a title in the respective languages.

Your new box is available to be located in one of the sections of your site (-see setting of the Current Theme- Appearance-).
